Sight Unseen, in partnership with Bell Media’s CTV, follows top homicide detective Tess Avery (played by Dolly Lewis from The Dutchman’s Pipe) who is forced to quit her beloved job after nearly killing her partner and being diagnosed as clinically blind. Reluctantly accepting help, Tess uses an assistance app and connects with Sunny Patel (played by Agam Darshi from DMZ), a professional seeing-eye guide and agoraphobe living 3,000 miles away. After losing her vision, Tess is haunted by the unsolved cases she left behind. Utilizing a hidden camera and earpiece, Sunny remotely guides Tess through life’s obstacles—and crimes—challenging preconceptions about ability, trust, and boundaries. This series, inspired by one of the co-creators’ experiences with sight loss, offers a fresh perspective on solving crime as viewers join Tess and Sunny on their journey.
